TORONTO, March 29, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It’s time to vote for the 11th annual RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award winners. Canadian Immigrant magazine announced the top 75 nominees and has opened online national voting for the awards at canadianimmigrant.ca/rbctop25
For the last decade, the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards program has been highlighting inspiring stories of immigrants who have made incredible contributions to Canada and honoured them with the most esteemed national award celebrating immigrant success. The award program is proudly supported by title sponsor, RBC Royal Bank.
Past winners over the last decade have been examples of inspiring immigrants, from entrepreneurs to artists, academics, community volunteers, sports heroes, philanthropists, inventors, and visionaries, from all across Canada with origins from every corner of the globe. Some fled strife in their home countries, while others chose to gain higher education; some arrived as young children, while others arrived as adults looking for a better life or a new beginning.
“Canada is a global leader in immigration, and these awards reflect how important immigrant integration is to Canada’s past, present and future,” says Sanjay Agnihotri, publisher of Canadian Immigrant. “These 75 finalists are all amazing new Canadians, who have made Canada better by adopting this country as their own.”
The shortlist of 75, who represent diverse ethnic communities, cities and industries across Canada, were chosen from among hundreds of nominations by a judging panel composed of past winners.
“Over the past 10 years, the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards have provided an important platform for some of Canada’s most inspiring newcomers to be recognized for their extraordinary journeys and successes,” says Ivy Chiu, Senior Director, Newcomer Client Strategy at RBC. “We invite you to cast your vote online, help us choose this year’s winners and join us in celebrating their achievements.”
Returning in 2019 is the second annual RBC Settlement Agency Award, which aims to recognize the impact these agencies have in helping newcomers succeed. The RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards will also crown one settlement agency winner based on Canada’s votes!
Canadians can now vote for up to three of their favourite settlement agency finalists online at www.canadianimmigrant.ca/rbctop25 until May 16, 2019.
