DENVER, April 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For every save made by the Colorado Avalanche goalies throughout the 2018-19 regular season, DCP Midstream committed to donating $250 to the American Heart Association. During Saturday’s Colorado Avalanche game against the Arizona Coyotes, DCP Midstream presented $930,000 to the AHA.
Nearing the end of the 2018-19 regular season, the Avalanche have more than 2,200 saves, totaling $550,000. On Saturday night, Wouter van Kempen, chairman, president, and CEO for DCP Midstream, almost doubled this amount by presenting a $930,000 check to Sara Schueneman, Senior Vice President, American Heart Association on the ice with representatives from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and Avalanche goalies.
“DCP is remarkably inspired by the mission of the American Heart Association and we are proud to be a part of raising awareness and funding cardiovascular health research,” said van Kempen. “Through our incredible partnership with the Avs, we’ve been able to donate almost $5 million during the past five years to do our part in helping to prevent heart disease.”
Through their partnership with the AHA, DCP Midstream invests in the health of their employees and communities. As the top corporate team fundraiser in the nation for the AHA’s 2018 Heart Walk, DCP proudly joins the AHA in their mission to encourage healthy lifestyles and end suffering caused by heart disease and stroke.
