DALLAS, May 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tricolor, the nation’s largest used vehicle retailer focusing on the sale and financing of vehicles to the Hispanic consumer, today announced that it has promoted veteran industry technology innovator Don Goin to President and Chief Operating Officer, just three months after being appointed Chief Technology Officer.
“Don has profoundly impacted two industry leading companies by driving both scale and efficiency through innovation,” said Tricolor CEO Daniel Chu. “It was evident after only a few months leading our digital strategy that he has the insight, experience and ability needed to decidedly accelerate our growth and impact. I am excited to have him assume this larger role and look forward to growing the Tricolor brand.”
Prior to joining Tricolor and as part of a twenty-five-year career in technology, Goin served over twelve years as the Chief Information Officer at Santander Consumer USA, leading all technology strategy and execution for one of the fastest growing lenders in the subprime auto industry. He also served as Chief Information Officer at Capital One Auto Finance, leading the creation of the company’s innovation center.
“I am energized by the quality of the team at Tricolor and the potential this powerful direct-to-consumer brand has created,” said Goin. “We share a vision to build inclusive, affordable vehicle and financing solutions at scale for one of the fastest growing customer segments in all of financial services.”
According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), 26 million people in the United States are “credit invisible” and an additional 19 million are “unscoreable,” corresponding to a total of 45 million people in the United States whose lack of a credit score translates into limited options in terms of accessing financing for a major purchase such as a motor vehicle.
Since its founding in 2007, Tricolor empowers its customers by providing access to affordable financing on high quality, certified vehicles in order to enhance the quality of their lives and ultimately help them to build a better future. On a combined basis, Tricolor and Ganas have served nearly 50,000 customers and disbursed nearly $1 billion in affordable auto loans by using its proprietary model to segment risk.
