Kitchener, Oct. 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Diva International Inc. (Diva), maker of the DivaCup, is pleased to announce that its Vice President of Operations, Roxanne Law, has been named one of Canada’s Clean16 Honourees. Out of the nominees in the Retailer and Consumer Goods category, Roxanne’s Clean16 recognizes her as the leader in her category. In her role overseeing the accounting, logistics, consumer care, ISO/regulatory and supply chain teams, Roxanne has taken Diva from just having a sustainable product, to having a sustainable business model by leading the company through its B Corp certification, creating an internal eco task force and analyzing its supply chain for any opportunity to reduce waste and adopt more sustainable practices.
Canada’s Clean50 and Clean16 Awards are announced annually by Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization. They recognize those 50 individuals or small teams, from 16 different categories, who have done the most to advance the causes of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past 2 years.”
“The 2020 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders in sustainability in Canada,” said Gavin Pitchford, CEO of Delta Management Group. “The competition for the top spot this year in every instance left us with many great choices - and to be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution Roxanne Law has made to helping make Canada more sustainable for all Canadians.”
The award recognizes Roxanne’s achievements in making Diva a more sustainable manufacturer of its reusable product, the DivaCup, which is a silicone menstrual cup that can be reused month after month as a replacement for disposable tampons and pads. Diva’s operations are based in Kitchener, Ontario, and the product is manufactured and packaged in Canada.
“It's a huge honour to be recognized as one of Canada’s Clean16 contributors to clean capitalism,” said Roxanne. “For 17 years our company has helped to divert millions of disposable menstrual products from landfills and waterways. My hope is to continue igniting passions for the environment in our consumers and Diva team alike so that they are as invested in saving our planet. Climate change is impacting our lives, right now, not in the future, and businesses need to take the initiative to be responsible and to make a difference any way they reasonably can.”
Roxanne will be amongst the 120 past and incoming Clean50 and Clean16 Honourees meeting on Thursday, October 3rd at the Clean50 Summit 9.0 in Toronto, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues tackling critical sustainability challenges facing Canada
