SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, Nov. 27, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eMARINE Global, Inc. (OTC: EMRN), a leading provider of information and communications technology (ICT) for the maritime industry, signed a contract with Hanjin Heavy Industry & Construction Co., Ltd (HHIC) to supply the Company’s e-Navigator system for four new build Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) ships. The contract is valued at an estimated 100 million won (US$0.85 million).
e-Navigator is eMARINE’s core brand of warship Electronic Chart Display & Information System (ECDIS). The Company currently provides ongoing maintenance of its warship ECDIS technology on 215 ROKN vessels on an annually contracted basis.
The newly ordered systems will be installed on ROKN’s newest PKG-B patrol vessels. eMARINE previously supplied its warship ECDIS technology for the first eight PKG-B vessels in the class, while the current contract is to supply the technology for ships nine through 12, which were awarded to HHIC in early 2018.
