BUDAPEST, Hungary, Oct. 25, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the upcoming Li-ion Battery Europe 2023 conference, scheduled to take place from October 29th to 31st at the Marriot Hotel in Budapest, and expected to attract over 500 delegates, Safak Aktekin, Senior Commercial Director at CHEP Automotive, will participate in the panel discussion “From Supply to Demand: Maximizing Battery Supply Chain within Europe.”
According to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, to meet the EV demand generated by net-zero targets, more than 200 Gigafactories will be operational across the world by the end of 2023, a number rising to over 400 by 2030. Comprising 36 Gigafactories in Europe – heavily concentrated in Germany, Poland and Hungary - this will increase European contribution to the global capacity pipeline to 15%.1
On Monday, 30th October, at 15.30 (CET), CHEP Automotive will join other experienced stakeholders - such as BASF, Italvolt and the Talga Group – to discuss how to ramp up battery production in Europe, while ensuring this acceleration is undertaken in a sustainable manner.
