Data engineering development and deployment capabilities are used to develop, debug, schedule, secure, govern, and run data workflows for business intelligence (BI) / analytic use cases. According to the study, seventy-seven percent of respondents indicate data engineering is critical or very important, up from 61 percent. Respondents from the retail and wholesale and financial services industries give it the highest priority.
