Metso Corporation's fiber and paper technology business area Valmet will supply an extensive rebuild of a testliner board machine to LEIPA Georg Leinfelder GmbH in Schwedt, Germany. The value of the order is close to EUR 30 million. The start-up will take place at the beginning of 2001.
This rebuild order mainly comprises a fourdrinier, headboxes, rebuilds of the press and dryer sections, a press and a coating station. Various auxiliary systems will also be modified. Metso's automation and control business area, Neles Automation, will supply a new control system for the whole board machine.
After the rebuild, the PM3 in Schwedt will be able to produce testliner at a speed of 1000 m/min, which makes it among the fastest on the market. The capacity of the production line will increase to 200,000 tons/year. The total rebuild investment by LEIPA Schwedt is EUR 59 million.
