NEW YORK, April 12, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Paris EUROPLACE, the Paris-based organization which includes more than 160 financial institutions and corporations, today announced that Jean-Claude Trichet, Governor, Banque de France will give the luncheon address at its third annual financial forum at the Plaza Hotel on April 17. Mr. Trichet replaces Laurent Fabius, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, who will be attending a special session of the French parliament.
Mr. Trichet's address will cover the topics of economic policies in France and economic trends in Europe. A question and answer session will ensue. Immediately following the luncheon address, Mr. Trichet and the Honorable Paul Volker, former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve Bank, will offer a joint presentation and discussion on the topic of "New Economic Considerations for shaping Monetary Policy."
Other French delegates expected to participate at the conference include, Jean-Francois Théodore, Chairman and CEO of the ParisBourse(SBF) SA, France Telecom Chief Executive Michel Bon, Michel David-Weill, Chief Executive of Lazard LLC, and Arnaud Lagardere, co-Chief Executive of Lagardere SA.
