MUNICH, May 31, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- NorCom Information Technology AG today announced that its alliance with BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BEAS) has been expanded to include the full integration of NorCom Global Security (NGS) 3.0 with BEA WebLogic Enterprise(tm) and BEA Tuxedo(r). As a result, NGS can now protect e-commerce applications running on the world's leading application server technologies, BEA Tuxedo(r) and BEA WebLogic Enterprise 5.1. The solution integrates crucial security components provided by the NGS Consolidated Security Administration (CSA), such as access control, authorization, authentication, single-sign-on and auditing, with the BEA family of products. For NorCom and BEA customers, this new integration means heightened security as well as rapid time-to-market and financial advantages. E-commerce applications built on the BEA E-Commerce Transaction Platform(tm) can be integrated in a uniform enterprise-wide security architecture thanks to the NGS security framework, without any additional development necessary.
Combining NGS security and administration services with BEA WebLogic EnterpriseTM and BEA Tuxedo(r), BEA customers have access to the key functions of the NorCom security architecture, such as role-based security administration, single-sign-on for a wide range of different network resources and dynamic desktop configuration.
The integration of NorCom Global Security with BEA WebLogic EnterpriseTM is based on the Security Provider Interfaces (SPI) of the BEA E-Commerce Transaction Platform. NGS can be fully embedded in the BEA architecture. Once installed, all processes and modules are linked with NGS via the security interface of this communications layer. The integration of BEA products and NGS enables the companies to offer solutions that make business processes more efficient and secure over the Internet.
"BEA is an ideal partner for our internationalization and marketing strategy," said Viggo Nordbakk, Chief Executive Officer at NorCom Information Technology AG. "Security issues are attracting enormous international attention. The integration of the market-leading technologies offered by NGS and BEA for e-commerce harbors enormous market potential."
"BEA collaborated closely with NorCom to integrate NorCom Global Security with the BEA E-Commerce Transaction Platform, enabling us to provide our customers with the full range of NGS security functions," says John Kiger, director of marketing, BEA E-Commerce Server Division." NGS is integrated deeply in the BEA architecture, providing the heightened security features demanded by today's e-commerce customers."
