MeT initiative to hold briefings for key industry stakeholders in June


The MeT (Mobile Electronic Transactions) initiative was formed last April by Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia to develop an open and common industry framework for secure mobile electronic transactions. The target of the initiative is to use existing and emerging standards to build a common framework and create an implementation roadmap to enhance the fast adoption of trusted mobile e-commerce.

In June, MeT will organize three briefings that will be open to all companies and organisations with an interest in mobile e-commerce. The briefings will focus on the future evolution of the mobile e-commerce market place and the importance of a cross industry initiative for secure electronic transactions.

The MeT initiative has reserved a number of places in the briefings for key stakeholders such as telecom operators and manufacturers, bank and finance sector, IS and IT industries. In addition to these, the briefings will address industry segments such as security, media and entertainment, .com, travel and transport and retail. In particular these briefings are targeted for senior personnel such as management, business developers, system architects and product managers.
