The Nokia IP 330 has been selected "Firewall Product of the Year" at the Network Industry Awards 2000 last night. This acknowledgement builds on Nokia's reputation based on the existing IP network application platforms offering for reliability, rapid deployment and sophisticated technical development and support.
The Networking Industry Awards, organised by CMP in association with Network News, recognise the success of those companies leading the way in the networking industry. The jury, which consisted of an independent panel of judges, selected Nokia as one of these companies and identified them as setting the standard for providing secure, reliable and transparent connectivity for New Economy transactions.
"This award is the result of very committed work by Nokia's IP Security development group. The IP330 network application platform has been developed specifically to secure the network and simplify firewall deployment. It is a low-cost, simple-to-deploy security appliance and an unbeatable choice for both small office and remote site locations that rely on Internet access and a secure network to do business. We truly appreciate this award from such an esteemed group of specialist judges as it acknowledges Nokia's work in developing secure Internet products", said Greg Shortell, Vice President and Head of Global Sales, Nokia Internet Communications.
The Nokia IP330 is an integrated firewall/router providing both network security and connectivity and is specifically designed to minimise the space requirements for smaller sites. It eliminates the need for separate Internet and Intranet access routers in firewall applications. Everything that is needed to access the Internet while fully protecting the private network is pre-installed and pre-tested - true plug and play.
Nokia has developed its IP security solutions specifically to secure the network. All products within the Nokia IP Security Solutions family are designed to work together seamlessly, all based on the same secure network operating system.
Implementing strong network security can be very complex and the IP330 simplifies the deployment of firewall intrusion detection, anti-virus and content filtering. The Nokia IP Network Security Solution is composed of world-leading Security partner applications offering ease of use, such as:
· Firewall & VPN - Check Point Software Technologies
· Intrusion Detection - Internet Security Systems (ISS)
· URL Filtering/Internet Management - WebSense
· SystemWatch Firewall Event Management - OpenService
· VPN acceleration - Chrysalis-ITS
