Houston, Texas, September 18, 2000 -- TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company today announced the commencement of a new non-exclusive 2D program located offshore Liberia.
This 9,500-kilometer survey will provide the oil industry with a state-of-the-art set of data covering the deep offshore (200 to 3000 meters of water) complementing the existing seismic data concentrated on the shelf. In combination with the recently announced TGS-NOPEC 2D project in Sierra Leone, the new survey blankets the prospective portions of the entire Liberian geologic basin.
The complete data set will be available early 2001 allowing interested companies to prepare for a bid round which will take place mid 2001.
TGS-NOPEC has secured significant pre-funding from industry in support of the project.
