New Finance & Administration Director

Opticom ASA has appointed Erling Svela (41) as Finance & Administration Director. He will join the company with effect from December 1st. Erling Svela has worked with Elkem since 1996, and is presently Finance Director for its Materials and Logistics Division. He is Certified Financial Analyst, Master of Business Administration and Master of Science (Forestry). Prior to Elkem, Mr. Svela has held financial management positions in retail finance and the computer industry.

We are delighted that Erling Svela has joined Opticom. Mr. Svela has the skills and experience to give Opticom an operational platform for future growth. I look forward to working with him.

Åge Muren, the present Finance & Administration Director of Opticom ASA, will transfer to work full time at the associated company, Fast Search & Transfer ASA (FAST), as Director of Financial Control and Reporting. Mr. Muren is State Authorized Public Accountant (Norway), Master of Business and Economics, and Bachelor of Law. He has been working closely with FAST since joining the Opticom Group in early 1999. His move to full time role there reflects the huge growth in FAST since then and the increasing pace of activity. I wish Åge Muren every success in this challenging role.
