Nokia and Mobilkom Austria implement new Internet business-to-business solution

Nokia has developed a new business-to-business Internet solution for Austrian operator Mobilkom, allowing E-business ordering of Nokia products. Mobilkom Austria is the first Nokia customer to implement this fully integrated solution.

With the Nokia service Mobilkom Austria employees will have access to Nokia Online Services, over the Extranet, based on a fully integrated business-to-business (B2B) solution. In the first stage Base Station Subsystem (BSS) equipment can be ordered via this new service. Both companies plan to extend this project to the entire Nokia product portfolio.

"With this innovative Nokia e-commerce solution we are able to provide a new tool to our employees which will make their work much easier," said Boris Nemsic, Chief Executive Officer Mobilkom Austria, "A lot of administrative work can be prevented, the data quality is improved by the high level of automation and the whole order process is reduced to a few hours."

"We are pleased to be providing this cutting-edge service to Mobilkom Austria, " said Urs Pennanen, Managing Director of Nokia Austria, "This is the first step for B2B solutions, which will increase the accuracy and speed while decreasing dramatically the amount of possible errors in the information process flow."

The B2B solution is not only designed for commercial data transfer, it includes also the configuration of network elements and automatic payment. This solution allows Mobilkom Austria employees to access the Nokia product catalogue for product information and to choose the right product configuration. By using the configuration tool, an order can be easily placed.
