Sanford was elected as a member of its Board of Directors on Oct. 1, 2000. He was also appointed to the Audit Committee of the Board at the same meeting.
Mr. Sanford is Executive Founder and former Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of STERIS Corporation, a leading provider of infection prevention, contamination prevention, microbial reduction, and therapy support systems, products, services, and technologies to healthcare, scientific, research, food, and industrial customers around the world. He is also founder and Chairman of SYMARK LLC, a company specializing in technology transfer and commercialization.
Mr. Sanford serves as a Board member and Advisor to numerous for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, including KeyCorp, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Case Western Reserve University, Edison BioTechnology Center, BIOMEC Inc., NeuroControl Corporation, Primus Venture Partners, the Kansas State University Research Foundation, AdvaMed, and several early stage technology companies. He is Chairman of NorTech, the Northeast Ohio Regional Technology Coalition, and is a member of Ohio Governor Bob Taft's Technology Action Board.
