Jaakko Pöyry Group appointed main engineering consultant for Swedish paper mill rebuild

Jaakko Pöyry Oy, a member of the Jaakko Pöyry Group, has got an important assignment as main engineering consultant for Holmen Paper AB's Hallsta MAX PM11 rebuild project at Hallstavik in Sweden. Jaakko Pöyry Oy's assignment comprises complete engineering services for the rebuild project. Part of the services will be provided by the Group's Swedish subsidiary JP Projektteknik AB. The assignment is a continuation of the pre-engineering work done by Jaakko Pöyry Oy in the spring of this year.

The engineering project involves a complete rebuild of the Hallsta paper mill where the current PM11 will be replaced by a new paper machine. The rebuilt PM11 will produce 330 000 t/a of improved newsprint and magazine paper grades.

The new assignment is a further manifestation of the co-operation between Holmen Paper and Jaakko Pöyry, dating back for more than 30 years. After participating in the design of PM11 in the late 1960s, Jaakko Pöyry has served as main engineering consultant for four major newsprint machine projects at Hallsta and Braviken in Sweden.
