Feintool Group meets sales targets for 1999-2000 financial year

In the 1999-2000 financial year (i.e. the period to 30 September 2000), the Feintool Group, based in Lyss (Canton of Berne) lifted its sales by 42.4% to CHF 427.0 m (1998-99: CHF 299.8 m). The core fineblanking/forming technology business contributed sales of CHF 283,1 m (previous year: CHF 247,7 m), i.e. 66.3% of the total. Of this sales rise in core business, 20% is attributable to organic growth and 80% to the acquisition of Heinrich Schmid AG, Jona. Sales at the Assembly/Automation division, which is currently being developed, leapt from CHF 28.6 m to CHF 81,1 m. This was due on the one hand to a 38% rise in sales at BalTec Group (which includes Limatec AG of Grenchen) and, on the other hand, to the integration as of 1 January 2000 of IMA Automation GmbH and the distribution company mhk Vertriebs-GmbH of Amberg, Germany. The Plastic/Metal Components division, which includes Mühlemann Group, posted sales of CHF 62.8 m (previous year: CHF 23,5 m in five months), thus also meeting its sales target. In fiscal 1999-2000, 60% (51%) of sales were posted in Europe while 32% (39%) originated in North America and 8% (10%) in the Asia Region (which includes the rest of the world).
