This week at Fall COMDEX 2000, Nokia continues to demonstrate a wide range of solutions that further the company's vision of a world in which voice, data and video communications converge into technologies that will enable an always connected society. Nokia, a pioneer in the development of mobile Internet technology, along with its developer participants, will also showcase innovative solutions in the Nokia booth L3205 at the Fall COMDEX show in the Las Vegas Center.
Nokia's Mobile Phones:
Nokia will be highlighting the features of its all-new Nokia model 3390 phone at Fall COMDEX. The Nokia 3390, which will be available for the holiday season, offers North American consumers more personalization options than ever before. Some of these include downloadable ring tones, four exciting new games, mobile text and picture messaging - where supported by the carrier's network – as well as changeable front and back Xpress-on covers. The 4.2 ounce Nokia 3390 (GSM 1900) builds on the Nokia tradition of giving users the ability to truly customize their phones. Additionally Nokia will showcase its "world phone" – the Nokia 8890 as well as the Nokia 8200 Series and 7100 Series Media Phones.
Additionally, Hewlett-Packard Company will demonstrate an initial application that enables Nokia 9110 and 9110i Communicators to direct Web-enabled HP printers to print any document stored on the World Wide Web. Using the standard and open v-card protocol, the wireless phones send the URL of a document to a printer equipped with a web server developed by HP. The printer then retrieves the file from the Web and produces a hard copy.
Nokia Software Products for Mobile Business:
At COMDEX, Nokia will preview its Nokia Activ Software Suite, a new generation of Nokia Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) servers and state-of-the art software options which allow businesses to tailor their offerings to best meet the needs of their customers. The Nokia Activ Software Suite enables companies of all sizes to compete effectively in a global marketplace that is converging into distinct mobile e-commerce and mobile productivity opportunities. The features of the suite, such as the world's first WAP Push engine, help corporations to offer new, innovative and personalized services to mobile users. The security option provides trusted transactions via traffic encryption together with user and server authentication.
The following companies participating in Nokia Enterprise WAP developer programs will be at the
