Nerve racking final ends Nokia Game

The final meant the climax of the one-month fictive adventure. Having stepped into the shoes of the main character, a young Finnish snowboarder by the name of Mika 'Sisu' Laakso, players competed to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Those who managed to stay connected to the very end had already accomplished a series of tasks and solved many pieces of the mystery. In the final, they had no more than 75 minutes to meet the last challenge. There, they had to run through the virtual head office of Nokia in search of clues on what had happened to the main character, as well as prevent a hostile take over of the company by answering a number of questions online within the given time.
As in the previous phases of the Nokia Game, players in various countries collaborated intensely over the Internet, using independent web sites and chat channels to share information and clues, even while competing with each other.
“Judging from the game activities we've witnessed, the Nokia Game has truly fulfilled its mission of connecting people across various borders in Europe,” said Mika Sarimo, Marketing Communications Manager, Nokia Mobile Phones. "We’ve even heard about players teaming up to tackle the final together. We're very happy that so many people have enjoyed this adventure. And the pleasure has been mutual."
Nokia expects to announce the country winners during week 50 in local media. The winners will be invited to meet up for a fabulous prize trip to the MTV Europe Snowball event in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, in January, 2001.
