BETHPAGE, N.Y., Jan. 25, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems Sector (ISS) has named David F. Stafford vice president-Business Strategy & Development for the Airborne Early Warning and Electronic Warfare (AEW&EW) Systems business area.
In this capacity, Mr. Stafford will provide direction for AEW&EW Systems' market segments, including identifying and evaluating business opportunities and developing plans to win new business. He will create strategic and tactical plans to position AEW&EW Systems for long-term competitiveness while continuing to support customer relations in existing market segments.
In addition, Mr. Stafford's organization has been expanded to include the business area's Advanced Systems Development (ASD) directorate. "The inclusion of ASD within the Business Strategy and Development organization will help the business area penetrate new markets and expand its existing mission areas, consistent with Department of Defense plans for future warfare capabilities," said Philip Teel, sector vice president-AEW&EW Systems. Mr. Stafford will be located in the company's Washington, D.C., office.
The AEW&EW Systems business area he represents has major facilities in northern Florida and Pt. Mugu, Calif.
He joined the company in 1983 and has more than 25 years of business development and contracts experience. His most recent assignment was director of Business Development & Strategic Planning for the Electronic Warfare Systems Integrated Product Team.
Mr. Stafford received his bachelor's degree from Florida International University and successfully completed an Executive Marketing Program at the John Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
