Soil and Water Ltd, a member of the Jaakko Pöyry Group’s Infrastructure & Environment business group, has been commissioned to supervise building contracts for the waste water and drainage project in the city of Haiphong. Financed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the supervision contract value amounts to a total of EUR 3 million. The building contracts are financed by the World Bank and will be implemented during the period 2001-2005.
The supervision contract is a continuation of the water supply development projects carried out by Soil and Water Ltd in Haiphong since 1990, strengthening the company’s position in the world market for water supply construction management and supervision services. The company is at present involved in a similar project in Cyprus. Last year, Soil and Water Ltd won the international competitive tendering process for construction management services for the World Bank-financed Danang water supply project.
