Nokia's revolutionary CRRM places the control for several radio network access standards into a single entity. It reduces operator costs by offering possibility to simplify the operation of multi-standard and multi-vendor networks. CRRM acts as a key element in mobile IP networks, managing the Quality of Service by selection of the optimum bearer for each user, at any time.
"IP is an inevitable trend. Based on estimates with our leading customers, the traffic will nearly triple and majority of it will be packet based by 2005. Native support for IP and open, distributed architecture brings cost per bit to a new level in radio networks. Common Radio Resource Management is a key element in Nokia IP Radio Network Architecture, enabling superior radio performance for future premium services in multi-band GSM/EDGE and WCDMA networks," said Vesa Tykkyläinen, Vice President and General Manager, IP Radio Networks, Nokia Networks.
Nokia is the world leader in mobile communications. Backed by its experience, innovation, user-friendliness and secure solutions, the company has become the leading supplier of mobile phones and a leading supplier of mobile, fixed and IP networks. By adding mobility to the Internet Nokia creates new opportunities for companies and further enriches the daily lives of people. Nokia is a held company with listings on six major exchanges.
