Nokia and Schibsted Telecom cooperation agreement

The cooperation contains development of new content-services for usage in mobile situations. The new services will be adjusted and connected to Nokia’s future mobile terminals, offering the user a seamless total-experience.

“We are very satisfied with the Nokia agreement. Using Nokia’s expertise we will be able to offer our users attractive, useful and exciting mobile experiences. This way, the cooperation will lead us closer to our goal of being the leading supplier of mobile services in Norway and Scandinavia”, says Director Per Håkon Fasting of Schibsted Telecom.

A package of content services are individualized on each and every terminal to provide the users an instant benefit experience. The objective is to increase the user- friendliness even more, by developing content services using the terminals’ specific characteristics.

“For us, the cooperation is a natural development towards providing service to our users. The future mobile Internet solutions demand high quality content services. Considering that, we see the cooperation with Schibsted Telecom as an important step in the right direction”, says Daniel Friis, Business Development Manager in Nokia Mobile Phones Scandinavia.

The mobile content services will be launched continuously together with the release of new terminals by Nokia. In addition to development of new content services, the long term agreement also includes cooperation in distribution and marketing.

Schibsted Telecom was established in 2000, and is a fully owned Schibsted-company. Two of Schibsted’s newspaper companies, Aftenposten and VG, also have ownership interests. The establishment of the company is a part of Schibsted’s vision of becoming Scandinavia´s leading media company by being the preferred supplier of content for readers, viewers and advertisers, irrespective of the medium chosen.
