Nokia today announced that a leading German IT publication Network Computing together with Real-World-Labs, a Germany-based testing service, has awarded the Nokia IP650 best marks in the category of firewall appliances based on an independent laboratory review.
Real-World-Labs put seven comparable firewall appliances through a series of tests, including documentation, installation, management, authentication and remote administration. The Nokia IP650, integrating Check Point Software Technologies’ (NASDAQ:CHKP) VPN-1/FireWall-1, proved itself to be a secure, scalable and reliable firewall solution. Receiving perfect scores for documentation and installation, and averaging 4.4 points on a scale of 1 to 5, the IP650 outperformed the products from other major vendors.
The review especially praised the IP650's Nokia Voyager, a simple and intuitive browser based remote management interface. According to test engineers of Real-World-Labs, the Nokia Voyager is a unique tool, dramatically simplifying configuration of the operating system.
