Jaakko Pöyry AB, which is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Forest Industry business group, and the joint share owner Henry Mickels have reached an agreement according to which the forest industry engineering company Rigel Konsult i Gävle AB will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Jaakko Pöyry AB. According to the agreement, Mr. Mickels will sell his 49 % shareholding to Jaakko Pöyry AB.
Since the purchase of the majority shareholding, Rigel Konsult has been integrated into Jaakko Pöyry AB, serving as a regional office in Gävle. In addition, Jaakko Pöyry AB has nine regional offices, of which the biggest are situated in Stockholm, Karlstad, Timrå and Luleå.
The acquisition of the remaining shares in Rigel Konsult i Gävle AB is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's strategy to expand its Forest Industry business group's local office network around the world. Rigel Konsult is a well-established forest industry engineering firm. The company had net sales of EUR 3.4 million in 2000 and it employs about 50 people.
