Statoil selects Adcore in Norway

Norwegian oil corporation Statoil has assigned Adcore Norway to develop and design a Web portal coincident with its stock market flotation. Private individuals that want to buy Statoil shares from the site will gain updated information regarding the sell-off right until the flotation itself.

Adcore won the deal, worth two to three million Norwegian NOK, in competition with a host of other IT consulting practices.

Dag Honningsvåg, CEO of Adcore Norway, said: "This is a strategic contract for Adcore, because it consolidates our business in the oil and gas industry. Adcore has a wealth of major media, finance and telecom customers, while references from our previous projects and our broad-based design and technology competencies were decisive to Statoil's choice.'

Statoil's stock market flotation process gets underway on 15 May, with the related Web server designed and developed by Adcore.

Adcore Sweden AB already partners Statoil on projects in Sweden.
