Tony Abena, Former CEO of The Gartner Institute, Joins Quelsys Board of Directors

NORWALK, Conn., June 27, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Quelsys, a market leader in B2B e-learning, today announced the addition of Tony Abena to its Board of Directors.

Since July 2000, Abena has served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of techies.com, an exchange for technology professionals and businesses, which has worked with more than 2,200 companies and whose member base has exceeded 800,000. From August 1999 until then, he served as Chief Technology Officer. Before joining techies.com, Abena was the CEO of Gartner Institute, which was funded in part by GartnerGroup Inc. Prior to Gartner Institute, Abena served two other positions at Gartner: Vice President of New Business Development for GartnerGroup Inc. and Vice President of Product Management for GartnerGroup Learning, a division of GartnerGroup Inc.

Abena said, "The prevailing learning deployment and pricing model needs to be changed. Quelsys is doing that with a very powerful, scalable and usable e-learning platform that works for small companies as well as the Fortune 500. For e-learning to become mainstream, it needs to be part of everyday work and learning. Whether on the job or at home, it should be easily created by anyone, anywhere, who needs to provide new skills or knowledge. I am excited to be a part of this and to help Quelsys move to the next level in its growth plans."

Peter M. Cholnoky, President and CEO of Quelsys, said, "I am delighted to have Tony join our Board. He brings an in-depth understanding of corporate training and web-based business models, which is proven by his successful track record with companies in the learning arena."

Cholnoky added, "Tony will be instrumental to our organization as we look to close our third round of funding."
