Nokia named in new ethical index

Nokia has been named among the top 10 European constituents of the new FTSE4Good index series, which benchmarks the performance of socially responsible companies in European, US and Global markets.

In addition to financial performance, socially responsible investment (SRI) is an investment strategy that takes into account a company's ethical, social and environmental performance. Nokia welcomes the new index and sees its own inclusion in the top ten companies as the result of the company's long-standing ethical commitment and strong value base.

Constituents of the FTSE4Good series are determined by assessing a company's achievements in the areas of:
- working towards environmental sustainability
- developing positive relationships with stakeholders
- upholding and supporting universal human rights

Nokia views the creation of the index series as further evidence that, increasingly, fund managers and individuals are looking to invest in socially responsible companies. The criteria for the new index are closely aligned with Nokia values, stakeholder expectations and the way the company has been doing business for a very long time.

Nokia is already a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Group Indexes (DJSGI), the world's first index family tracking the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide
