HAMBURG, Germany, July 17, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Effective July 31, 2001, Robert Gmeiner (48), Chief Operating Officer EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) of Gauss Interprise AG will leave the company for private reasons in order to relocate to Munich. The Supervisory Board has accepted Robert Gmeiners' desire to resign from the Executive Board.
Gauss will use this opportunity to reduce the number of members of the Executive Board. This reduction will be supported by a reallocation of responsibilities in the Executive Board. Robert Gmeiner hands over Marketing and Sales EMEA to Olaf Siemens (34). Mr. Siemens gained substantial experience in sales with Siemens Nixdorf and has been responsible for Research and Development of Gauss since March 2000 as a member of the Executive Board. He will head both divisions in the future.
Along with the successful business development in the United States, this reorganization at board level gives additional focus to achieve the break even on an EBITDA basis by the fourth quarter, 2001, according to plan.
The Executive Board of Gauss Interprise AG is now:
-- Heino Buechner / CEO,
-- Ron Vangell / COO The Americas,
-- Dr. Arend Dreyer, appointed as CFO in May 2001,
-- Olaf Siemens / COO EMEA and R&D and
-- Juergen Dreckmann / COO Consulting, responsible for Gauss Interprise Consulting AG
