Northrop Grumman Appoints Allison to Lead Newly-Formed Navigation Systems Division


WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., July 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed William J. Allison vice president and general manager of its newly-formed Navigation Systems Division. The new division will be headquartered in Woodland Hills.

The Navigation Systems Division combines several elements of the former Litton Advanced Electronics Systems business unit, which Northrop Grumman acquired earlier this year. These businesses include Guidance and Control Systems and Aero Products, Woodland Hills; Integrated Systems, Northridge, Calif.; Litton Systems Canada, Toronto; and three foreign subsidiaries, LITEF, Freiberg, Germany; TELDIX, Heidelberg, Germany; and Litton Italia, Pomezia, Italy.

Since last September, Mr. Allison, 47, had served as president of Litton's Integrated Systems Division in Northridge. Prior to that, he was president of Litton's Data Systems Division in Agoura Hills, Calif. He joined Litton in 1992 as vice president of Integrated Logistics and Product Assurance.

Before joining Litton, he managed the engineering laboratory at General Motors' Hughes Electronics unit, and earlier served as quality engineering manager at Northrop Grumman's former Electronics Division.

Mr. Allison holds a B.S. in chemistry from California Polytechnic State University and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. He is finishing his course work for a Ph.D. in executive management from Claremont University.

The Navigation Systems Division is part of the company's Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector (ES3).
