ZAANDAM, Netherlands, Sept. 3, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mr. Cor Boonstra has informed the Ahold (NYSE:AHO) Supervisory Board and Corporate Executive Board that he has resigned as a Member of the Supervisory Board, effective immediately.

The Boards have accepted his resignation.
