CTT Director Complies with SEC Subpoena


FAIRFIELD, Conn., Sept.6, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Competitive Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:CTT) announced today that it has been informed that Samuel Fodale, a director of the Company, has fully complied with a Securities and Exchange Commission subpoena he received.

The subpoena was issued in connection with an investigation, as described by the SEC, to determine whether a former registered representative of a brokerage firm and/or others may have violated anti-fraud provisions of the securities laws by effecting manipulative transactions in the securities of the Company that affected its price and market during the period October 1, 1999 to October 31, 2000.

The Company had previously received a subpoena in connection with this investigation from the SEC, which it fully responded to in June 2001. The Company is unaware of any wrong doing on its behalf, or on behalf of any of its directors, relating to the trading of the Company's common stock.

The Company has strict requirements that its officers and directors comply with certain SEC regulations with respect to the purchase and sale of its common shares. The Company has been informed that Mr. Fodale has complied with these requirements and with all relevant SEC regulations.
