Net Insight: Carrier1 and Net Insight joint venture becomes fully owned Carrier1 unit

ProStream was formed to address the market for professional video services to TV- and production companies around Europe. Since the introduction of ProStream in February 2001, the company was owned 60 percent by Carrier1 and 40 percent by Net Insight. Carrier1 will now have full responsibility for ProStream's operations, and will integrate the company into its existing organization. The latest ProStream solutions based on Carrier1's pan-European fiber network and Net Insight's DTM technology can be seen at the IBC 2001 in Amsterdam 14-18 September in hall 4, stand 340.

"The changed market conditions have contributed to a delay of our earlier announced service introduction. By integrating ProStream as a fully operational business unit of Carrier1 we will be able to benefit from synergies between customer segments and product lines and provide our service offerings in a more efficient manner. Besides benefiting from a stronger service portfolio, the integration of ProStream will simplify the customer relations since the service offerings by Carrier1 and ProStream have been partly overlapping", says Goran Forslund, Vice President at Carrier1.

"ProStream strongly contributed to Net Insight's intensified commitment to the media network market. TV broadcasters and production companies around Europe are now aware that there is an alternative to satellite contribution and file transfer. With our support Carrier1 will be ready to offer them a cost efficient and comprehensive solution", says Thomas Duffy, CEO, Net Insight.
