F.L.Smidth wins cement plant contract in USA

The order will be booked as revenue on a pro-rated basis until 2002, following the deliveries of engineering services and equipment. and will not impact the company's earnings prospects for 2001.
F.L.Smidth is to expand the capacity of the plant to produce 5,000 short tons of clinker per day (equva-lent to 4,535 metric tons).
The contract, recently signed at F.L.Smidth Inc. headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania by represen-tatives of F.L.Smidth and Titan Cement, comprises machinery and equipment, engineering, training, mechanical erection and commissioning services. The new production facility is designed with state of the art technology that combines low energy consumption and the smallest possible impact on the environment.
The scope of supply for the new 5,000 TPD production line, which replaces the two wet kilns, consists of complete raw material preparation including an FRM52 vertical mill, a 5-stage ILC preheater with 2 support Rotax kiln, a 4 x 5 SF cooler and an FRM21 coal mill.
Tarmac America was recently acquired by Titan Cement SA, which is headquartered in Athens, Greece. F.L.Smidth has a long business tradition with Titan Cement providing equipment and services to both Greece and the US.
