Two New Projects in Indonesia

Circum Makassar (CM-01), located in the Makassar Straights, is an 8,000-kilometer program. The survey is a joint effort between TGS-NOPEC, WesternGeco and the Indonesian Directorate General of Oil and Gas (MIGAS). WesternGeco's vessel Horison is acquiring the data. The survey has good pre-funding.

The primary goals of Circum Makassar (CM-01) are to provide a quality grid of data over the Makassar Straits, and to image the large thrusts offshore Sulawesi. The program follows the successful Mahakam Delta-99 (MDD-99) survey acquired in the area by TGS-NOPEC. That survey tied key wells in the region and provided data over the deepwater Mahakam Delta. Cicum Makassar is being recorded in preparation for a licensing round to be held by MIGAS in 2002.

Matahari (MH-01) is located in the Arafura Sea of Indonesia and Australia. This 8,000-kilometer program is a joint effort between TGS-NOPEC, WesternGeco, MultiWave Geophysical (MGC) and the Indonesian Directorate General of Oil and Gas (MIGAS). MultiWave Geophysical's vessel Polar Duke is acquiring the data. The survey has good pre-funding.
The survey (MH01) will provide a regional grid of modern high quality seismic data that will allow explorers to better evaluate the geological evolution and petroleum systems in this relatively unexplored region. The area is adjacent to the major Australian gas-condensate accumulations of Sunrise-Troubadour, Evans Shoals and the recent significant Abadi-1 discovery in Indonesian waters. Matahari is being recorded in preparation for licensing rounds to be held by MIGAS in 2002 and 2003.
