TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ybor businesses are holding a contest this weekend to both find the biggest Buccaneer fans and support the Red Cross Disaster Relief effort. The effort will culminate with a costume contest to be held Sunday at Noon at the Ticket Pros USA office located at 1524 East 7th Avenue in Ybor City (next to Centro Ybor).
"With America finally returning to its entertainment districts and sporting arenas, Ybor City is doing its part to help get people out," said Sunnie Finkle, the event organizer and Manager of Ticket Pros USA.
A voluntary donation will be collected from the contestants and will go directly to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Prizes will be given out for the Best Dressed Buccaneer Fan and several runners-up.
The grand prize will be two tickets to this weekend's Buccaneers game and passes to the catered tailgate party, compliments of Ticket Pros USA. Runners-up will receive a $50 gift certificate compliments of Big Mouth Burgers, and two honorable mention prizes compliments of King Corona Cigars and More. All contestants will receive free wings and refreshments from Taste of Gyro and Subs, Tampa and an American Flag to wave proudly at the Bucs game.
"The response from the Tampa merchants has been overwhelming," said Finkle. "Many Merchants wanted to be a part of this."
"After the 11th, America didn't care about going out or what their favorite teams were doing," Finkle continued. "Everyone was worried about their loved ones and the country. Now, the fans are starting to call saying they want to go do something. We hope this contest will be a fun way to enjoy a day out."
