Jaakko Pöyry Group expands forest industry consulting activities to Japan

Jaakko Pöyry Consulting, the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Forest Industry Consulting business group, has expanded its operations by establishing a branch office in Tokyo, Japan. The new office will provide management consulting and investment banking services to the forest industry cluster in Japan as well as to global clients seeking to develop their business on the Japanese market. Corporate Directions Inc. (CDI), Japan, will be the strategic alliance partner of the Japan office.

The Japanese market is the third largest forest products market and the largest net importer of forest products in the world. Jaakko Pöyry Consulting's presence in Japan, coupled with the alliance with CDI, will result in wider access and broader-based consulting services to the Japanese forest sector market. Jaakko Pöyry Consulting's forest industry consulting expertise and CDI's local knowledge is a powerful combination giving support to the Forest Industry Consulting business group's entire global network.

Corporate Directions, Inc. is a Japanese management consulting company formed in 1986 by former Boston Consulting Senior Managers. The services of Corporate Direction are based upon a rare combination of knowledge about Japan's corporate environment, indigenous management techniques as well as Western consulting practices, and result in an effective synthesis of business plans from these diverse elements.

Jaakko Pöyry Consulting is one of the world's leading advisors to the forest products industry cluster. The business group focuses on identifying, analysing and implementing creative business solutions to enhance stakeholder value and create winning solutions for companies in the industry.
