Lectra: At Fatex 2001, Lectra Presents Its Complete Offer for Apparel, Textiles and Fashion

PARIS, Nov. 23, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lectra (PSE:LECS):

At Fatex, the international clothing manufacturing exhibition held from November 6 to 8, 2001 at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Park, Lectra presented its solutions focusing on two solutions dedicated to textiles, apparel and fashion: "Collection-Design-Merchandising" and "Design and Production Departments."

The "Collection-Design-Merchandising" area, covering the whole chain from the creation of fabrics to virtual merchandising, focused its demonstrations on Gallery and 3DVM (3D Visual Merchandising) latest versions.

Gallery version 2.0: the collaborative platform for collection management

Gallery 2.0 makes it possible to visualize each stage in creating a garment by compiling and analyzing all data relating to production and sale of the product. The user creates virtual samples, visualizes all components and calculates the cost. This new version includes such features as full support of the sample fitting and review process, and bill of material by size, color and country capabilities. These new functions reduce the product's development cycle by improving communication and budget forecasts.

3DVM version 3.0: the solution for virtual merchandising and assortment planning

3DVM provides a complete suite of functions that allows to create and retail apparel and also optimize selling areas. This solution strengthens virtual merchandising teams by increasing their control over transactions. The new features of 3DVM V3 provide free and quick simulation of apparel collections in any virtual 3D retail environment with real-world dimensions. They also permit to easily define in-store of display directives for various retails channels, key accounts or store categories, and to carry out quick tests on the design of new products. Today, testing, selling and visualizing the merchandising before production is a reality.

The "Design and Production Departments" presented Lectra's e-manufacturing offer. Fierce competition in fashion and textiles industries encourages them to establish a direct and interactive link between design and manufacture. This new approach helps to minimize overall costs and to introduce fluid and real-time communications. This market revolution has enabled Lectra to propose new solutions.

At the heart of Lectra's e-manufacturing solution, Optiplan allows to coordinate and operate a company's production resources in real-time.

Optiplan: control and optimization of manufacturing in a situation of delocalisation

Optiplan is a management and decision-making tool for production. As a management tool, it identifies all operating expenditure relating to the use of materials and production resources. As a decision-making tool, it simulates different scenarios of production plans focusing on gains in materials and productivity. Items in the cutting room such as spreading and cutting machines are under its steering orders. Associated with Diamino Expert, Optiplan also enables to make savings in materials by deciding on the best fabric/positioning mix in line with manufacturing orders. Return on investment is generally less than one year.
