SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- WJ Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:WJCI), a leading designer and supplier of high-performance radio frequency (RF) components for communications equipment manufacturers, today announced the expansion of its MMIC mixer line with two low-cost high linearity models. These passive gallium arsenide (GaAs) IC mixers are ideally suited for 3G UMTS wireless infrastructure equipment. The MH101 and MH102 mixers provide excellent technology in a low-cost RFIC, by offering high dynamic range with Input IP3 greater than +30 dBm and Input P1dB of 16 dBm across the entire UMTS frequency range of 1.9 to 2.2 GHz.
"WJCI continues a strategic expansion to bring industry leading mixer performance into the realm of single chip RF integrated circuits. This development offers designers new opportunities to reduce cost while addressing the requirements of new third-generation networks," said Skip Hoover, Executive Vice President, Business Development of WJ Communications. "It is another example of our design innovation creating a new performance standard in RFIC frequency conversion products."
High IP3 and a low cost package ($2.25/10K) offer industry-leading linearity in a single chip solution. Housed in standard surface-mount SOIC-8 plastic packages, the MH101 and MH102 do not require any external baluns, bias, matching or decoupling elements. The on-chip diplexer affords first-rate matching on the RF and IF ports and offers excellent VSWR and L-I isolation. The passive GaAs MESFET mixers are developed and fabricated using WJ's state-of-the-art GaAs semiconductor fabrication facility.
The units are available for immediate delivery and are priced at $2.25 per 10K.
