STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan., 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Allgon, the global supplier of radio-based infrastructure solutions, has been appointed 3G supplier of base station antennas and microwave radio equipment by Svenska UMTS Nat AB, the 3G infrastructure joint venture between Swedish mobile operators Telia and Tele2.
According to the agreement, Allgon will provide Svenska UMTS Nat with PDH microwave links in their 3G networks.
Also, Allgon has been appointed supplier of base station antennas for use in Svenska UMTS Nat's 3G networks. This is Allgon's third UMTS base station antenna agreement in Europe, following contracts signed with Orange and Cegetel.

Allgon's product range consists of antenna systems for infrastructure in mobile telephone networks; filters, combiners and similar products for base stations; repeater networks; microwave equipment and mobile telephone antennas. Allgon's invoiced sales amounted to SEK 2,696 million in 2000. The number of employees at the end of 2000 amounted to 1,335. Allgon was founded in 1946.
