APPOINTMENT AT KEMIRA ESPOO RESEARCH CENTRE


Kari Kurki, M.Sc., has been appointed director of Kemira's Espoo Research Centre from March 1, 2002. Mr Kurki has worked for Kemira Pigments both in Finland and in the U.S. being engaged in various managerial positions in research, technological development, technical custormer service and environmental protection.

Mr Kurki's current position is head of Pigments' R&D in Pori. Kemira Pigments production is for use in the paints, paper, printing ink and plastics industries and for water treatment.

Since 1985, Kari Kurki has been also engaged in Kemira Group research steering groups. He graduated in Oulu university, department of chemistry, in 1970. Kari Kurki will report to Hannu Toivonen, Vice President, Senior Vice President, Corporate R&D and Technology.
