STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 30, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The hobbyist wholesaler and mail order company Panduro has chosen Sigma as the supplier of the Bison enterprise system and a new e-tailing website. The order also includes integration of a number of systems, both internal and external.
Panduro is represented in Sweden, Norway and Denmark through 32 stores, as well as traditional mail order operations. The head office is in Malmo. Panduro Hobby is a part of the Panduro Trading group, which also includes Hobbex.
"We have recently opened stores in several Nordic locations. We are in an expansive phase and need an IT partner that we can work with over a long period of time. Sigma has expertise in all of the areas that we require and a good reputation in the market," says Jorgen Panduro, CEO at Panduro.
"Sigma has demonstrated great commitment and considerable expertise during the purchasing phase. Sigma and Bison are strong in the region. With so many satisfied reference customers, capable systems and knowledgeable consultants, Sigma was a natural choice," says Rickard Kemfors, Chief Financial Officer and IT manager at Panduro.
Panduro has previously operated an e-tailing site that is completely independent from its enterprise system. With Sigma's solution, the website will be completely integrated with the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and customers placing orders will receive information directly from the enterprise system. This will eliminate double maintenance of the two systems, as well as ensuring that the information is always current and correct.
"We see an increased need among many companies to integrate their various systems. There are many gains to be realized with respect to economy and efficiency. Bison will act as a transaction engine for all data to and from Panduro's retail stores. This order is confirmation of the confidence that customers in our region place in both Sigma and the Bison enterprise system," says Mats Elger, project manager at Sigma Integra, which is responsible for the installation.
Sigma supplies solutions that safeguard the customers' competitiveness. Operations are based on entrepreneurial, niche subsidiaries that develop services and products in close cooperation with customers. Services are offered within three business areas: Business Solutions, IT Solutions, and Network & Wireless Solutions. The Group has approximately 1,300 employees within 33 subsidiaries in Sweden and six other countries. Sigma is listed on the O-List of the Stockholm Exchange. www.sigma.se www.sigma.se.
