STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 31, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The IT security company Protect Data has entered into an agreement with Vattenfall Data for additional supplies of the security solution Pointsec(r), along with a PKI solution. Together, the two applications will protect the storage and transfer of information on the power company's portable and stationary computers.
Vattenfall AB is one of Europe's leading energy suppliers. The order the Group has placed with Protect Data relates to both licenses and support for the security solutions. The order is worth SEK 1.8 million, and delivery took place in December 2001.

Pointsec is a security solution that uses encryption to protect all information and software on desktop PCs, portable and handheld computers. Only the user able to give the correct identity and password may access the information on the computer. PKI - Public Key Infrastructure - makes it possible to use digital signatures and create secure systems for sensitive communication over the Internet.
