UPPSALA, Sweden, Feb. 13, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nocom has signed a major contract, pertaining to software licenses with associated service and support, with a customer within the banking/insurance sector. The contract, which is an expansion of a previous contract, concerns products within NetManage's RUMBA series for host computer access, and is valued at approximately SEK 4.5 million. Since its founding in 1990, NetManage has developed software that facilitates access to information that is based on host computers, and has a strong position in the market for IT infrastructures.
By standardizing access to the applications based on host computers, the customer achieves major cost savings in the form of, among other things, reduced user-administration costs and a common user interface. RUMBA's product series offers a powerful solution for access to companies' host computers through traditional terminal emulators, the newer Web-to-Host solution and server-based solutions (thin clients). Nocom has worked with RUMBA products for twelve years and has strong technological expertise in host computer access and integration, which guarantees the customer sustainability and stability in the operating environment. RUMBA products, in combination with Nocom's extensive experience, provide the customer with a system that is built to handle future technology shifts.
"Host computer access is an important part of Nocom's expertise in integration. Integration is a strategically important area of Nocom's core operations - and has been so since the beginning in 1985," says Stefan Skarin, CEO, Nocom. "We see continued significant potential in the market for integration. In times of cost savings, it becomes even more important for companies to invest in effective solutions for integrating existing systems."
