VALMET-RAISIO BECAME METSO PAPERCHEM


The new name, Metso PaperChem Oy, was registered on February 22, 2002. The new name emphasizes the importance of the company's products as a part of Metso Paper's core business solutions. In December 2001 Metso Paper acquired Raisio Chemicals´ minority holding of the company.

The net sales of Metso PaperChem in 2001 were EUR 40 million and it employed about 100 persons. The company has offices at Raisio and Valkeakoski in Finland, in Germany, in the USA, in Brazil and in China. Metso PaperChem is the leading supplier of chemical and water management systems for the pulp and paper industry worldwide.


Metso Corporation is a global supplier of process industry machinery and systems, as well as know-how and aftermarket and services. The corporation's core businesses are fiber and paper technology (Metso Paper), rock and mineral processing (Metso Minerals) and automation and control technology (Metso Automation). In 2001, the net sales of Metso Corporation were EUR 4.3 billion and the personnel totaled approximately 30,000. Metso Corporation is listed on the Helsinki and New York Stock Exchanges.
