STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stockholmsborsen share trading:

The average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 13 677 million during February (during the past 12-month period: 15 023), which is a decrease of 9%. In January 2002, the average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 15 244 million. The average number of closed transactions per business day has been 36 440 during February (during the past 12-month period: 40 166), which is a decrease of 9%.

The turnover rate during February was 130% (during the past 12-month period: 133%).

Derivative trading

Average derivative trading turnover (Swedish share and interest-rate related contracts) amounted during February to 249 170 contracts (during the past 12-month period 253 228) per business day, which is an decrease of 0.02%. The average derivative trading turnover amounted during January to 296 579 per business day. The average number of contracts in share-related derivative products amounted during February to 232 777 contracts (during the past 12-month period 225 538) per business day, while the average number of contracts in interest-rate related derivative products amounted during February to 16 393 contracts (during the past 12-month period 27 690) per business day.

The total value of trade in stock options amounted for February to SEK 128.4 (during the past 12-month 133.0) million per day. The total value of trade in stocks options amounted for January to SEK 143.2 million per day.

Index developments

The OMX index increased during February by 0.2% and closed on 783.6 (31 January 2002: 782.0). The Benchmark index closed on 258.4 as of February 28 (January 31, 2002: 254,9), which is an increase of 1.4%. The SX All-share index (the SAX index) closed on 226.6 (January 31, 2002: 225.1), which corresponds to an increase of 0.7% during the month.

The Consumer Staples Index increased most during the month and closed on 280.5 (January 31, 2002: 249,3), which is an increase of 12.5%. The Telecommunication Service Index decreased most during the month and closed on 503.9 (January 31, 2002: 576,4), which is a decrease of 12.6%.

Listed companies

During February, two companies have been delisted from the O-list. The number of listed companies on Stockholmsborsen amounts to 300, of which 69 are listed on the A-list and 231 on the O-list. Total market value for the companies on the A-list amounts to SEK 2 197 billion, and on the O-list to SEK 480 billion. Total market value thereby amounted to SEK 2 677 billion as of February 28, 2002 (January 31, 2002: 2 661).
