STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 22, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lufthansa Technik has ordered CTT's Zonal Comfort (TM) System for one Boeing Business Jet, BBJ2, aircraft. The BBJ2 aircraft is based upon the B737-800 aircraft.
Delivery of the system is planned for third quarter 2002.
The Zonal Comfort (TM) System is a high-performance, moisture management system specifically designed for the aviation industry. The system is based on evaporative cooling technology. Besides being extremely energy efficient, the Zonal Comfort (TM) System uses a method that effectively precludes the transfer of bacteria within the aircraft. The dual-purpose system increases humidity for greater comfort and incorporates CTT's Zonal Drying (TM) System to counter condensation problems.
The Zonal Drying (TM) System combats condensation in the thermal and acoustic insulation of modern passenger aircraft. It reduces maintenance costs by extending the service life of the aircraft's insulation. By eliminating accumulated condensation, thesystem also cuts non-revenue weight which, in turn, leads to significant fuel savings. Last but not least, the Zonal Drying (TM) System helps reduce corrosion and the risk of electrical faults by maintaining a dry environment between the interior trim panels and the aircraft skin.
