MONTREAL, March 28, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Environmental Applied Research Technology House -- EARTH (Canada) Corporation (CDNX:EAR) and the Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC) are hosting a Technology Information Session on EARTH's proprietary Total Oil Removal and Remediation (TORR(tm)) technology on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 in Calgary, Alberta.
Mr. Dennis Gaudet, President of PTAC, will host along with Mr. Jason Kropp, EARTH's Regional Representative, in presenting the TORR(tm) technology to members of PTAC, Oil & Gas Producers, and Environmental Industry representatives. The technical presentation outlines the mechanics of TORR(tm) and discusses applications in:
-- Polishing of produced water in SAGD heavy oil (Tar Sands) recovery
operations, allowing the producer to treat and recycle larger
amounts of water for steam injection
-- Conventional petroleum production, allowing TORR(tm) to recover
larger amounts of oil from marginal wells with no outside energy
inputs, including drilling and well testing operations.
-- Environmental remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated water at
commercial and industrial sites, and oil spill cleanup in lakes,
rivers, groundwater, and oceans
-- Treatment of bilge and ballast water from transoceanic oil
tankers, cruise ships and military vessels
