HELSINKI, Finland, April 2, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Metso (NYSE:MX) opens its first North American automation Future Care center -- the Metso Automation site in Atlanta, Georgia -- and develops the competitiveness of its customers' industrial core processes throughout their life-cycle. In the starting phase, the service center will offer systems and facilities for four process automation experts.
From the new service center, Metso system and process experts can have on-line connection to the customers' processes to monitor system and process performance, and ensure the quality of the results. The center is equipped with the latest communication and analysis tools to handle and analyze the process data. The center will also use the secure, shared information channel provided by Metso's Pulp and Paper Portal Internet service, between Metso and its customers. These activities are supported by Metso's local specialists who carry out the proactive control system maintenance and necessary process tuning at site in co-operation with the customer.
The target of the comprehensive service offering is to reach higher system uptimes with optimum process performance. In cooperation with the local service personnel, experts at the center can also provide remote support for commissioning of control functions during installations.
